Cannon Kirk Homes Irish Open 2012

The Cannon Kirk Homes Irish Open 2012 took place in Dublin , Ireland from April 23-28, 2012 . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2011/12 and belonged to the International 25 category . The women's tournament was part of the WSA World Tour 2011/12 and belonged to the Silver 25 category .

Defending champions were Tarek Momen , who did not start again, and Nour El Tayeb , who lost to Aisling Blake in the first round this year . In the men's final , Alister Walker defeated Alan Clyne 11: 4, 11: 6, 9:11 and 11: 3. In the women's category, Alison Waters beat Madeline Perry 11: 4, 11: 4 and 12:10.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 16 players, four of which were reserved for qualifiers. The four best players were seeded. For the women, the main field also comprised 16 starting places, four of which were for qualifiers. The best eight players were seeded. Wildcards were not given.
