Caramoran is a Filipino municipality in the island province of Catanduanes . It has 30,056 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census) who live in 27 barangays . The community is described as partially urban and belongs to the third income bracket of the communities in the Philippines. Caramoran is located about 344 km southeast of the capital of the Philippines Manila and 46 km north of the provincial capital Virac , on the coast of the Philippine Sea .
Caramoran has a hilly to mountainous topography , in which the nature and water reserve Catanduanes Watershed Forest Reserve with its extensive rainforest stands is located.
The climate of the island of Catanduanes is classified as Type II, with no pronounced dry or rainy season, the heaviest rainfall falls from October to December. The community lies within the typhoon belt in the Philippines.
