Carl Friedrich Berent Count Taube von Odenkat (born March 21, 1909 in Gothenburg , † April 16, 1993 in Stockholm ) was a Swedish count and naval officer . He came from the German-Swedish-Baltic noble family of the " von Taube ".

Career

Carl Friedrich Berent Taube graduated from high school in Vänersborg in 1927 , then became a sea ​​cadet in 1928 and passed his officer examination in 1931 . In 1932 he joined the royal Swedish fleet as an ensign and was promoted to sub-lieutenant in 1933 . From 1939 to 1940 he was at the Royal Naval War School. In 1941 he was promoted to captain , then in 1951 he was promoted to corvette captain , in 1954 to frigate captain and finally in 1962 to captain at sea . From 1958 to 1960 he served as a department head in the naval staff . From 1951 to 1957 and again from 1960 to 1969 he was employed in the Royal Swedish Materials Office. In 1966 he took over the chairmanship of the Royal Swedish Naval Association and was awarded the Knight of the Sword .

His parents were Carl Gustaf Count Taube von Odenkat (1867–1941) and Hedda Augusta Vendela von Schwerin . In 1941 he followed his father to the count and married Märta Stina Delin (1916–1982). Carl Friedrich Berent Taube died on April 16, 1993 in Stockholm and was buried in the family grave next to his late wife on Galärvarvskyrkogården. His son followed him:

  • Carl Arvid Philip Count Taube von Odenkat (born April 19, 1944 - † June 20, 2001 in Stockholm), he was the last Count Taube von Odenkat, with him the House of Odenkat died out as a male successor.
