Carl Berend Sigismund von Flemming

Carl Berend Sigismund von Flemming (born October 19, 1779 in Stettin , † September 26, 1835 in Basenthin ) was district administrator of the Flemming District and member of the Provincial Parliament in the Prussian province of Pomerania .

Life

He was a member of the Pomeranian noble family Flemming . His father Franz Berend Johann Sigismund von Flemming (1748-1812) was the heir to Paatzig, Basenthin, Harmsdorf, Matzdorf and Bresow, his mother Marie Henriette Salingre was the daughter of a Stettin merchant. From 1790 to 1795 he attended the Knight Academy in Brandenburg Cathedral . He then enrolled at the University of Halle for law, which he left in 1798. In 1797 he entered the Masonic lodge in Halle (Saale) .

He became an auscultator and from March 1799 trainee lawyer with the government in Szczecin . From 1802 to 1804 he was a trainee lawyer at the Pomeranian War and Domain Chamber . He then retired from community service and devoted himself to the management of his estates Zebbin and Ribbertow in what was then the Flemming District , in addition to which he was active as a district deputy . In 1805 he was elected district administrator by the estates of the Flemming District. After his predecessor Lorenz Friedrich von Puttkamer left , he managed the district administration from October 1805. In March 1806 he assisted the Russian troops marching through. In 1807 he still had no royal confirmation of his office because he had not passed the required exam. In 1813 his request for dismissal for health reasons was granted.

In 1824 and 1827 he was a member of the Provincial Parliament of Pomerania .

Carl Berend Sigismund von Flemming was the last heir to Basenthin , Harmsdorf , Zebbin and Ribbertow . He had been married to Friederika Philippine Ehrengard von Romberg since around 1804, the eldest daughter of Lieutenant General Friedrich Gisbert Wilhelm von Romberg .
