Georg Baur (born February 5, 1859 in Stuttgart , † July 31, 1935 in Essen - Bredeney ; full name: Carl Georg Friedrich Baur ) was a German civil engineer and industrial manager .

Life

The son of a professor attended the secondary school in Stuttgart and studied civil engineering at the Technical University of Stuttgart . During his studies, he became a member of the fraternity Academic Society Sonderbund Stuttgart . After passing the second state examination in 1886 , he became government builder ( Assessor ) of the Kingdom of Württemberg . On October 1, 1889, he moved to the Krupp company. During this time he studied oriental languages ​​and then worked for the Krupp company in China until 1893 . During this time he was appointed the chief inspector of the Chinese railways by the Chinese viceroy. Between 1893 and 1895 he worked again in Essen, then again in China until June 30, 1906. On July 1, he became director of the Germania shipyard in Kiel , which Krupp took over in 1896 , a deputy member of the board on May 18, 1915, and a full member of the board of directors of Friedrich Krupp AG on December 14, 1915 . At the same time he was a technical advisor to the Republic of China until 1913 .
