Carl Haslinger (singer)
Carl (also: Karl) Haslinger (born September 28 or 30, 1892 in Vienna ; † February 7, 1974 there ) was an Austrian singer, songwriter and emcee.
Life
Haslinger began his career as a folk singer at the age of sixteen. He appeared with Edmund Guschelbauer and Luise Montag in restaurants and cabarets in Vienna, Innsbruck , Salzburg and other Austrian cities, had engagements in Germany, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Holland and Belgium and lived temporarily in Switzerland. After the end of the First World War , he also worked as an entrepreneur. He had summer stages in Meidling , Fünfhaus and Favoriten . After Wilhelm Leicht's death in 1946, he took over the conference in the Leicht variety theater .
Haslinger wrote the lyrics to The Old Pendulum Clock and The Postman Gsieberl ; He also created Viennese songs such as Die zwa Strawanzer or Guat schau ma aus , skits and couplets .
He was awarded the Robert Stolz Medal and the hat from Dear Augustin .
Haslinger still appeared on November 25, 1972 in an episode of the senior club .
