Carl Myerscough ( Carl Andrew Myerscough; born September 5, 1979 in Blackpool ) is a British shot putter and discus thrower .

At the 1998 Junior World Championships in Athletics in Annecy, he won bronze in the shot put.

In 2000 he tested positive for anabolic steroids and banned him for two years. The British Olympic Association's life ban for the Olympic Games was later lifted following a decision by the International Court of Justice.

In the shot put he won bronze for England starting at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in 2002 and was seventh at the World Cup in Athletics in Madrid . At the World Athletics Championships in 2003 in Paris / Saint-Denis, he was eliminated in qualification. In 2004 he was seventh at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Valencia and in 2005 tenth at the World Championships in Helsinki .

In 2006 he was fourth in the shot put and fifth in the discus throw at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne . In the shot put of the European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg , he missed the finals.

At the Indoor World Championships 2008 in Valencia he failed in the shot put in the preliminary round as well as the following year at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Turin in 2009 . At the World Cup in Berlin he came in tenth place in the shot put.

In 2010 he finished eighth in the shot put at the World Indoor Championships in Doha and eleventh at the European Championships in Barcelona . At the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi he took bronze in the discus throw and was fourth in the shot put.

In the discus throw of the World Cup in Daegu in 2011 and the shot put of the Euro 2012 in Helsinki and the Olympic Games in London , he did not get past the first round.

At the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow he was seventh in the discus throw.

He was five times English champion in the shot put (1999, 2003-2006) and twice in discus throw (2005, 2006). From 2007 to 2012 he was the British Shot Put Champion six times in a row. Starting for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln , he was twice NCAA champion (2003, 2004) and NCAA indoor champion (2002, 2003).

Since June 20, 2003 he is married to the American hammer thrower Melissa Myerscough (née Price).
