Carlo Dalmazio Cardinal Minoretti (born September 17, 1861 in Cogliate San Dalmazio , Province of Monza and Brianza , Italy , † March 13, 1938 in Genoa ) was Archbishop of Genoa and Cardinal of the Roman Church .

Life

Carlo Dalmazio Minoretti studied at the Seminary of Milan trays Catholic theology and philosophy . In 1884 he received the sacrament of ordination . He then worked as a parish pastor in his home diocese before becoming a lecturer at the Monza seminary in 1890 . From 1907 to 1909 he taught at the seminary of Milan. From 1909 to 1915 he was pastor in Milan.

In 1915 Pope Benedict XV appointed him . to the Bishop of Crema ; He was ordained as a bishop by the Archbishop of Milan , beatified in 1987 , Andrea Carlo Cardinal Ferrari ; Co-consecrators were Pietro Viganò and Giovanni Mauri , auxiliary bishop in Milan . In 1925 Pope Pius XI commissioned him . with the management of the Archdiocese of Genoa . Carlo Dalmazio Minoretti was admitted to the College of Cardinals on December 16, 1929 as a cardinal priest with the titular church of Sant'Eusebio .

He died on March 13, 1938 in Genoa and was buried in the local cathedral of San Lorenzo .
