Carlos Manuel Cardoso Mané (born March 11, 1994 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese football player . The offensive player is under contract with Portuguese first division club Rio Ave FC .
Career
In the club
At the age of nine, Mané joined Sporting Lisbon , where he played in youth for a total of ten years before making his debut for the B team of his home club in 2012. A year later - in October 2013 - he made his professional debut. This was followed by 21 season games in which Mané scored four goals. The following season ran in a total of 43 games, in which he scored nine times and also contributed to the cup .
On August 31, 2016, VfB Stuttgart signed Mané for a two-year loan period and also secured an option to permanently sign the midfielder. On his debut for VfB, he scored his first goals for the Swabians in the second and fourth minutes of the game in the 4-0 home win against SpVgg Greuther Fürth on October 3, 2016 in the Mercedes-Benz Arena . Mané thus achieved the fastest double by a debutant in the history of German professional football. At the beginning of April 2017 he injured his ankle and could no longer be used during the season. In total, Mané contributed six goals in 19 missions to the return of VfB Stuttgart to the Bundesliga . After returning to team training after his ankle injury, he tore a tendon in his right thigh in January 2018, so that he was out for the entire 2017/18 season .
After the loan deal ended, Mané returned to Sporting Lisbon for the 2018/19 season.
After only two league games in the domestic league, Sporting loaned him to the German second division club 1. FC Union Berlin in January 2019 . The loan agreement is valid until the end of the second division season 2018/19 , after which Union holds a purchase option. After the end of the season, 1. FC Union Berlin did not pull this option, after which Mané returned to Sporting Lisbon. On July 20, 2019, Mané moved to league rivals Rio Ave FC on a free transfer .
