Carlos Stetter

Karl Stetter ( Spanish : Carlos Stetter; born March 9, 1941 in Ellwangen ) is a German clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of San Ignacio de Velasco in Bolivia .

Life

Karl Stetter was ordained a priest on July 1, 1966 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Horrea on October 3, 1987, and appointed him auxiliary bishop in Chiquitos . The Apostolic Nuncio in Bolivia, Archbishop Santos Abril y Castelló , donated him episcopal ordination on February 28 of the next year ; Co - consecrators were Bernhard Rieger , auxiliary bishop in Rottenburg-Stuttgart , and Bonifaz Madersbacher , bishop of San Ignacio de Velasco.

On January 7, 1995, the Pope appointed him coadjutor bishop of San Ignacio de Velasco . When Bonifaz Madersbacher's OFM retired on July 29, 1995, he succeeded him in the office of Bishop of San Ignacio de Velasco.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on November 4, 2016.
