history

Carmzow was first mentioned on April 5, 1354 as Karnsow . The spelling Carmzow is documented for 1711 . At the time of the German colonists it was equipped with a field marrow of around 30 hooves . In the 14th century Carmzow was under the influence of the Pomeranian noble family von Ramin. Due to the favorable settlement conditions, such as the fertile landscape and the large extent of the forest, it can be assumed that the area was inhabited early on, as evidenced by finds from prehistory . This includes a large stone grave found in 1956, around 4000 years old, and numerous Stone Age finds.

On December 31, 2001, Carmzow and Wallmow merged to form the new municipality of Carmzow-Wallmow.
