The Carnival Imagination is a cruise ship of the US shipping company Carnival Cruise Line which was commissioned as Imagination in 1995 . She is the fifth ship in the eight-unit Fantasy class .

history

The Imagination was laid on June 30, 1993 under the hull number NB 488 in the shipyard of Kværner Masa Yards in Helsinki and was launched in October 1994. The delivery to Carnival Cruise Lines took place in June 1995, the commissioning after the official christening of the ship by Jodi Dickinson on July 2nd.

The ship has been registered in the Bahamas since 2000 , after Panama was previously the home port. In 2007, like all units in the Carnival fleet , the Imagination was given the addition of Carnival to its name and thus became Carnival Imagination . In September 2016 the ship received an extensive modernization.

The Carnival Imagination is stationed in Long Beach and operates from there to ports in California and Mexico . In the course of the COVID-19 pandemic , the ship had to cancel all trips from March 2020. There had previously been reports of a passenger's illness.

In the course of the COVID-19 pandemic , the ship in 2020, like her sister ship Carnival Fascination , was initially launched for a long time . In August, the Carnival Imagination was sold for demolition in Aliağa .
