The Carnival Inspiration was a cruise ship put into service in 1996 as an inspiration , which was last used by the US shipping company Carnival Cruise Line . She was built as the sixth ship in the eight-unit Fantasy class .

history

The ship was built as inspiration under hull number NB 489 in the Kværner Masa Yards shipyard in Helsinki . She was laid down on June 30, 1993. The Fantasy was launched on May 24, 1995 and delivered to the Carnival Cruise Line on February 22, 1996 as the sixth of a total of eight Fantasy- class ships . Godmother was Mary Ann Shula, wife of American football coach Don Shula .

The ship sailed under the Panamanian flag , its home port was Panama . The commissioning took place after the official christening in Miami on March 16, 1996. In 2000 Nassau became the new home port. In January 2005 the ship was modernized.

In 2007, the inspiration received as part of renovation work, like all ships in the fleet of the shipping company Carnival, as a name affix and was now called Carnival Inspiration . After the Carnival Inspiration had previously been stationed in Tampa (Florida), it was from December 2011 Long Beach (California) the starting point of their travels, which mostly had Mexico as their destination.

In the course of the COVID-19 pandemic , Carnival Cruise Line sold the ship in 2020 for demolition in Aliağa (Turkey). The ship was stranded for demolition on August 5, 2020.
