Carolina Herrera
Carolina Herrera , born María Carolina Josefina Pacanins y Niño (born January 8, 1939 in Caracas ), is a Venezuelan - American fashion designer and entrepreneur who founded the fashion company named after her in the USA in 1981 .
Career
Her eponymous company is headquartered in New York City , where Herrera, who comes from a wealthy Venezuelan family, has lived since the early 1980s. Herrera's career in the world of fashion began as a speaker for Emilio Pucci , a friend of the family, in Caracas. In the 1970s Herrera was part of the New York jet set and frequented Studio 54 . Andy Warhol , who portrayed her in 1978, was one of her friends . Herrera has been married to the television presenter Reinaldo Herrera Guevara since 1968 and has four daughters; Two of them from their first marriage with a large Venezuelan landowner.
