Carrick ( Cornish : Karrek ) was a district in the county of Cornwall in England ; it was named after Carrick Roads , a small bay on the south coast. The administrative seat was the city of Truro . Other important places were Falmouth , Penryn and St Agnes .
The district was formed on April 1, 1974 and resulted from the merger of the Boroughs Falmouth and Penwith and the Rural District Truro. On April 1, 2009, in addition to Carrick, all other districts in Cornwall were abolished and united in a single unitary authority.
