Caradon ( Cornish : Karadon ) was a district in the county of Cornwall in England . The administrative seat was the city of Liskeard ; other significant places in the former district are Callington , Looe , Polperro (with Lansallos) , Saltash and Torpoint .
The district was formed on April 1, 1974 and was formed from the merger of the boroughs Liskeard and Saltash, the urban districts Looe and Torpoint and the rural districts Liskeard and St Germans. On April 1, 2009, in addition to Caradon, all other districts in Cornwall were abolished and united in a single unitary authority .
