Carys Parry (born July 24, 1981 in Pontypridd ) is a British hammer thrower .

Athletic career

Carys Parry gained her first international experience at the 1999 European Junior Championships in Riga , where she was eliminated from the qualification with a width of 49.02 m, as well as at the Junior World Championships in Santiago de Chile the following year with 53.80 m. In 2006 she took part in the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne for the first time , where she finished sixth with a throw of 61.80 m. Four years later she won the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi with 64.93 m, the silver medal behind the Canadian Sultana Frizell . In her third games in 2014 in Glasgow she was fifth with 65.37 m and sixth at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast with a throw of 61.58 m.
