Caspar Corswant

Caspar Corswant (* May 24, 1664 in Stralsund ; † May 28, 1713 in Pyrmont ) was the syndic and mayor of Stargard in Pomerania .

Life

The son of councilor Peter Corswant attended school in his hometown. Because of the siege of Stralsund during the Swedish-Brandenburg War , he went to see his relatives of the same name in Stettin , where he attended high school. From 1682 he studied at the University of Greifswald and from 1685 at the University of Frankfurt (Oder) . From there he accompanied the young Matthias von Blücher as court master to Tübingen , where both of them studied for a year and a quarter. Because of the outbreak of the Palatinate War of Succession , he went from there to Altdorf . Via Augsburg he traveled to the Netherlands and from there to London . Then he went on a trip to Italy.

In 1691 he received his doctorate in both rights under Alexander Caroc at the University of Greifswald . The city of Stargard in Pomerania appointed him in 1696 as syndic. In 1712 he was elected mayor there.

He died in 1713 at the age of 49 in Pyrmont, where he had gone for a cure.
