Alexander Caroc

Alexander Caroc (born July 25, 1643 in Lassan , † January 7, 1711 in Greifswald ) was a German legal scholar and state syndic of Swedish Pomerania .

Life

Alexander Caroc studied in Leipzig , Rostock , Greifswald , Tübingen and Regensburg . In 1673 he was appointed associate professor of law in Greifswald. In 1674 he received his doctorate and in 1678 he was appointed full professor of law at the University of Greifswald . In addition, he took over the chair of eloquence in 1680. In addition, he became assessor at the Pomeranian court in 1684 . In 1696 he became the council of the Mecklenburg dukes in Güstrow .

When he finally took over the office of state counsel for Swedish Pomerania at the beginning of the 18th century, his chair at the university was withdrawn from him, as he could hardly devote any time to it because of his numerous secondary jobs. After his death in 1711, the office of State Syndic was transferred to his son Georg Adolf Caroc .
