Cathy Lee Crosby (born December 2, 1944 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American actress who became known to a larger audience for her role as Wonder Woman in the television film of the same name.

Life

Cathy Lee Crosby was born in Los Angeles as the second child of three daughters. Her parents were also in the television business. Her father as a singer-songwriter, but also as a radio and television announcer in San Francisco , and her mother at RKO Pictures . She began playing tennis at the age of twelve and played twice as a professional player at Wimbledon . At the age of 23, Crosby ended her tennis career and focused on a life in the movie business .

She attended the University of Southern California and graduated in psychology in 1968 .

Career

Crosby started her acting career with minor roles in television series such as Your Appearance, Al Mundy , Emergency California and Barnaby Jones . She got her first supporting role in the crime film Mass Murder in San Francisco alongside Walter Matthau and Bruce Dern . In the United States, Crosby became known for her first leading role. She played the title heroine Wonder Woman in the television film of the same name . In the subsequent television series , she was replaced by Lynda Carter , who became world famous. From 1980 to 1984 she hosted the ABC series That’s Incredible! . This was followed by other leading and supporting roles in television films, as well as occasional guest appearances in television series.
