Celso Yegros
Celso Yegros Estigarribia (born July 11, 1935 in Itauguá , † April 6, 2013 in Asunción ) was Bishop of Carapeguá .
Life
Celso Yegros Estigarribia studied philosophy and theology at the Major Seminary in Córdoba, Argentina and was ordained a priest on December 18, 1960 in the Cathedral of Asunción by the Archbishop of Asunción , Juan José Aníbal Mena Porta . He was pastor of San Lorenzo and of Asunción Cathedral. After further pastoral activities in the archdiocese, he worked in the leadership team of the Paraguayan Seminary from 1971 to 1975, then director of the office for catechesis and from 1973 to 1985 professor and head of the Monseñor Bogarín Institute . He was general secretary of the Bishops' Conference CEP.
Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Carapeguá on April 6, 1983 . The Archbishop of Asunción, Ismael Blas Rolón Silvero SDB , donated him episcopal ordination on May 29 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the bishops Jorge Adolfo Carlos Livieres Banks , auxiliary bishop in Asunción , and Carlos Milcíades Villalba Aquino , bishop of San Juan Bautista de las Misiones .
On September 24, 2010, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
