Centao is an Austrian rock band from Eggendorf .

history

Centao was founded in July 2001 and after a few line-up changes since December 2007 consists of Steve ( guitar ), Josh ( drums ), Irwine ( bass ) and Matt ( vocals ).

In March 2002 the band released their first EP called Rising . In autumn 2002 Centao played in the opening act of 4Lyn on their tour through Austria.

The second EP Straight Within was released in April 2003. The title song can also be found on the sampler Rock Now (distributor: Warner Music Group ). In Germany and Austria they appeared as the opening act for u. a. Mother's Finest and Clawfinger and at a concert on the Guano Apes' farewell tour .

In 2006 Centao recorded their debut album and released the single No One Knows . Then they played in the opening act for Die Happy , Stone Sour , Seether , Revolverheld , H-Blockx , Emil Bulls and iO, which emerged from the Guano Apes .

In March 2008 the follow-up Your Poison Is My Paradise was presented in the Viennese discotheque U4 , and Centao was again the opening act for Die Happy . In November 2008 Centao played successfully at the Vienna Gasometer as the opening act for Alter Bridge , ( Creed's successor ). In summer / autumn 2008 the new video for the album single was shot. The single was released in spring 2009.

In 2009 Centao was the first Upper Austrian band to play at the Novarock Festival.

On September 18, 2010 Centao played as the opening act for Guns N 'Roses in the sold-out Wiener Stadthalle in front of around 15,000 people.

In 2011 Centao released the new album The Look - The Wait - The Kill , the first single is called Nothing , which was released on April 15th at the same time as the album and made it to the top 5 in the iTunes rock album charts. The video for the single premiered on April 8, 2011 on the music channel "GoTV".

style

Centao play rock music in the intersection of Breaking Benjamin and Incubus . It's Nu Metal , which is played very groovy and demanding. The band itself calls their style Mo Rock .
