The Central Dairy Hannover AG , and Central Dairy and Zentralmolkerei Hannover AG , was named a dairy and a company for the production and sale of dairy products .
history
In the early days of the German Empire , various farmers were looking for ways to safely and, above all, regular sales of the milk produced by their dairy cows. For this purpose they formed an association through which they could found the Central-Molkerei Hannover as a stock corporation in 1884 or 1885 . The first location was an independent building at Clevertor 1 .
After the demands on milk quality from hygienists, doctors and milk specialists, similar to the demand from consumers, had steadily increased and further expansion of the business at the old location was no longer possible, the company was relocated to Hildesheimer Straße 219. The diverse dairy products manufactured there were mainly delivered to all parts of Hanover.
The milk was delivered by farmers from many parts of today's Hanover region , for example by means of goats and then by train from the Lehrte train station , as the Lehrte goat monument reminds of today . In Gehrden , the farmer Otto Mittendorf had forms that he filled out and stuck to his sealed milk cans in order to have them delivered to the dairy in Hildesheimer Straße on the tram line 10 of the overland works and trams Hannover AG (ÜSTRA).
At the time of the Weimar Republic , the company Werbekunst Epoche Reklame GmbH , based in Berlin, was producing a 4-minute advertising film entitled Central-Molkerei Hannover in 1928 .
In 1933, the year the National Socialists seized power , the dairy was renamed " Milch-Vertriebs-Genossenschaft " (MAG), also known as the milk sales cooperative .
Since 1970, the company has been offering milk and dairy products under the common brand name hansano in association with numerous other dairies in northern Germany, which also rely on the concept of regionality in their food .
In 1973 the company relocated to Isernhagen in the district of the Niedernhägen farmers' association (NB). The Isernhagener dairy, based in the Milky Way, operated as a registered cooperative under the name Hansano-Milchhof eG and finally merged in 1999 with four other northern German cooperatives to form Nordmilch eG , based in Bremen .
