Chałupy ( German Ceynowa ) is a small seaside resort with 333 inhabitants (2005) on the Baltic Sea in the Powiat Pucki of the Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland and belongs to the Gmina Władysławowo .

Geographical location

The village is located in the former West Prussia , between Władysławowo (Großendorf) and Kuźnica (Kußfeld) on the Hel (Hela) peninsula .

history

In the 19th century, Ceynowa was a manor. Until 1919 Ceynowa belonged to the circle Puck in the administrative district of Gdansk the province of West Prussia of the German Reich .

After the end of the First World War , the village belonged to the part of Pomerania which , due to the provisions of the Versailles Treaty , had to be ceded to Poland for the purpose of establishing the Polish Corridor . After the invasion of Poland in 1939, the area of ​​the Polish Corridor was annexed by the German Reich in violation of international law. The district of Putzig with Ceynowa was assigned to the Reichsgau Danzig-West Prussia , to which the village belonged until 1945. On June 25, 1942, the village was renamed Ziegenhagen and carried this name until 1945. At the end of the Second World War, the place was liberated and came back to Poland.

economy

Tourism is an important industry for the small fishing village. The beach in the village has good conditions for windsurfing and kite surfing .
