The Gmina Władysławowo [ vwadɨ'swavɔvɔ ] is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Pucki of the Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name (formerly Wielka Wies ; Kashubian Wiôlgô Wies ; German Großendorf ) with around 10,000 inhabitants.
geography
The city lies at the foot of the Hel (Hela) peninsula , eight kilometers north of Puck (Putzig) on the Baltic Sea . The western quarter of the Hel Peninsula is a municipality. The place Rozewie (Rixthöft) is the northernmost point of Pomerellen and the voivodeship. Jastrzębia Góra (Habichtsberg) lies on a 33 m high cliff above the Baltic Sea.
history
The rural community formed in 1952 was elevated to a town on June 30, 1963. On January 1, 2015, some of the places were upgraded and the municipality of Władysławowo was raised to a city-and-country municipality.
