history
The order was donated on April 21, 1882 by King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) in memory of the founding of the city of Bangkok and in memory of King Phra Phutthayotfa Chulalok (Rama I) from the Chakri dynasty. The medal is only awarded to the descendants of King Rama I and their spouses, members of other royal houses and heads of state. There are currently 30 male and 16 female medal holders.
insignia
The decoration consists of a single class (knight) and is worn in the following designs:
- Pendant of Chakri, hanging on a necklace
- Pendant of Chula Chakri, attached to a yellow sash to be worn over the left shoulder to the right hip
- Star of Chakri, to be worn as a breast star on the left (women wear the star on a silk ribbon as a neck medal )

The "Pendant of Chakri" consists of a gold medallion with an enamelled ring. The inscription is in Siamese with the motto of the order " Faithfulness, loyalty and patriotism ". In the "follower of Chula Chakri" is the Sudarshana Chakra . This is originally the weapon of the Hindu deity Vishnu - a rotating, very sharp disc (see also Chakram ). This surrounds a three-bladed sword (the tri ). The corresponding breast star, the "Star of Chakri", is similar in appearance to the pendant of Chakri , only silver flames also strike out of the ring.
