Chalifa al-Ghweil

Chalifa Mohamed al-Ghweil , also Ghowel ( Arabic خليفة محمد الغويل, DMG Ḫalīfa Muḥammad al-Ġuwail ), is an Islamist politician and internationally unrecognized Libyan Prime Minister of the New General National Congress , an opposing government that sees itself as the legitimate continuation of the General National Congress , the parliament that emerged from the 2012 elections, while in the general election In 2014 the internationally recognized Council of Representatives was elected.

He graduated from Garyunis University, currently Benghazi University , and is a member of the National Redemption Movement party .

Before March 31, 2015, Ghweil served as deputy to Omar el-Hassi , Prime Minister of the New General National Congress, after which he was only to remain Prime Minister for one month.

After supporters of the General National Congress stormed the building of the State Council on October 14, 2016 , fighting broke out between supporters of al-Ghweil and Fayiz al-Sarradsch , the current ruler of Tripolitania and rival of the actual ruler of Cyrenaica , Khalifa Haftar .
