Chance Pe Dance ( Hindi चांस पे डांस ) is a Hindi film directed by Ken Ghosh . The main role is played by Shahid Kapoor , whom he discovered in his film Ishq Vishk .

Sameer Behl has dreamed of becoming a Bollywood star since childhood. Against his father's wishes, he moves from Delhi to Bombay , the film metropolis, to make his dream come true. Despite having the talent he needs, he hasn't made it very far since arriving and has been running from one casting to the next.

But the tide soon seems to turn when he meets the pretty choreographer Tina Sharma and the director Rajiv Sharma is looking for a new leading actor for his new dance film. When Sameer proves his dancing skills, he gets the role.

In the meantime, Sameer is haunted by bad luck: he is thrown out of the apartment because he has not been able to pay rent for months and is also fired as a courier driver. Now he sleeps in his car and is looking for a job to bridge the gap financially until shooting begins. In a job advertisement, he becomes aware of a school that is urgently looking for a dance teacher. There he even helps the students to win a school competition.

The bad news: The producer of the film wants to let the audience decide on the casting of the male lead on the basis of a television casting show. Sameer is devastated. But then the news shows that there is rioting in Delhi. Sameer decides to return to his father in Delhi to help him. In the meantime he gives up his dream and doesn't want to go back to the casting in Bombay, which he explains to his girlfriend Tina on the phone. The TV shows the show in which Sameer is named as the audience's favorite. Sameer's father realizes that his son can do it. He persuades him to take the chance. Sameer still makes it to the casting, which he then wins.

A year later: Together with Tina he walks the red carpet for the premiere of his film Chance pe Dance .

criticism

(...) “ Chance pe Dance ” [is] not a really bad film. You can just look the other way, it doesn't hurt and for the dose of Bollywood in between it is sufficient every time, but on " Om Shanti Om ", " In good as in bad days " ( Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham ) or the more related ones " Dil To Pagal Hai - My heart is going crazy " is simply not enough.
