The Charis publisher , also Charis publishing house called, was one of the writers and translators Curd Ochwadt in the post-war period in Hanover , was established in book publishing . Ochwadt mainly published some of his own writings through the publisher or acted as editor through the publisher. In addition to regional and historical topics, Charis Verlag also focused on essays and monographs . The publishing house was at Tessenowweg 11 in the Hanover district of Kirchrode . The address was also documented as "Tessenow-Weg 11" in Hanover through the correspondence between Ochwadt and the Romanian writer Alfred Kittner .

Two publications of the publishing house on the fortress Wilhelmstein and on the Steinhuder Meer were reviewed in 1996 in the general Swiss military magazine .

The German-Israeli librarian, literary scholar and writer Werner Kraft asked Ochwadt in a letter from Jerusalem in the context of a writing about Franz Kafka in 1963 whether he could publish a manuscript through Charis-Verlag.

Kürschner's German literature calendar was recorded by Charis-Verlag in 2010, the address book of the German book trade in 2014.
