Charles de Lameth
Charles de Lameth , actually Charles-Malo-François, comte de Lameth (born October 5, 1757 in Paris , † December 28, 1832 there ) was a French général de brigade of the cavalry .
Live and act
Lameth was the son of Maréchal de camp Louis Charles de Lameth and his wife Therese de Broglie, daughter of Marshal François-Marie de Broglie ; his brothers were Alexandre and Théodore de Lameth .
Lameth took part in the North American War of Independence , on his return commanded the Régiment Royal-Étranger cavalerie , was elected by the nobility in the National Assembly and stood in the same for a constitutional constitution and for reforms.
In the campaign of 1792 he commanded a cavalry division. Since he opposed the dethronement of the king and fought the Jacobins , he was arrested after August 10, 1792 and held for 27 days, then went to Hamburg , where he founded a trading house, and did not return to France until 1800.
In 1809 he was elected governor of Würzburg , in 1810 by the northern Spanish port city of Santoña and in 1827 as a deputy.
Charles de Lameth died in Paris on December 28, 1832 at the age of 75 and was buried in the Père Lachaise cemetery (28th Division).
