Charles Munyeki Kiama (born November 2, 1986 ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who specializes in road running.

Career

In 2005, Charles Munyeki Kiama won the half marathon competition of the Nairobi Marathon in 1:01:34 h.

In 2007 he finished sixth in the CPC Loop Den Haag , and in 2008 he stayed below the one-hour mark by finishing fifth in the Rotterdam Marathon .

In 2009 a seventh place in the RAK half marathon and an eighth place in the Rotterdam half marathon followed the debut over the full distance at the Chicago marathon . There he passed the half marathon mark in 1:02:01 h, which put the world record for a newcomer from Evans Rutto (2:05:50 h) in jeopardy. Although he could not keep up this pace set by Olympic champion Samuel Kamau Wanjiru to the end, he finally finished fourth in 2:07:06 h.

In February 2015, Charles Munyeki Kiama was third in the Tel Aviv Marathon in 2:17:10 h. In April 2017, the 31-year-old won the Zurich Marathon with 2:14:07 h. He lives in Ngong today .
