Charlotte Thiele
Charlotte Thiele (born June 6, 1918 in Berlin as Carlotta Teresa Margarita Thiele ; † May 6, 2004 there ) was a German actress.
Life
Charlotte Thiele completed her training at the drama school of the Schauspielhaus Berlin . She made her debut as an actress in 1938 in one of Kurt Hoffmann's first directorial works , the short film Weekend Peace . In 1939, the revue film We dance around the world with Irene von Meyendorff , Carola Höhn and Carl Raddatz , centered around Charlotte Thiele as the head of the dance troupe. In 1940, she was seen on the cinema screen at the side of Hans Albers in Ein Mann auf Abwegen .
The actress, who is extravagant even away from the film sets, was often used as a cool blonde due to her appearance . In 1941 she worked under the direction of Wolfgang Liebeneiner in the controversial propaganda film I complain with Heidemarie Hatheyer and Paul Hartmann in the leading roles. In the by Herbert Selpin and Werner Klingler realized Titanic film version from 1943 Thiele was in the role of Madeleine Astor as the wife of Karl Schönböck to see. In 1944 she made her last film with A Look Back - the actress was sidelined by Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels .
Charlotte Thiele was married to Wolfgang Wohlgemuth, an assistant to the surgeon Ferdinand Sauerbruch , in her first marriage . With her second husband, the Croatian diplomat Branko Buzjak, she emigrated to Argentina via Denmark and Sweden in 1944. In 1954 she returned to Germany. In the same year, Thiele got caught up in the involvement of her ex-husband, the celebrity doctor Dr. Wohlgemuth, unexpectedly came into the focus of the media in the Otto John case , but without being able to build on her earlier career in film. In 1956 she stood again in front of the camera for The Last Tour of the American television series Rheingold Theater , presented by Douglas Fairbanks Jr.
