The Chartreuse Notre Dame (Chartreuse de Reillanne ; Kartause von Reillanne) is a nunnery of the contemplative Carthusian order about eight kilometers north of Reillanne in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department in France . The Charterhouse is between Manosque and Forcalquier .

history

The monastery building was built in 1978 to house the nuns from the Chartreuse de Beauregard in Voiron , who felt threatened by the growth of this city.

Buildings and plant

The new monastic settlement was built according to the scheme of traditional Carthusian monks. The cells, separated from each other by a garden, are located in a cloister that connects them with one another. At a distance of 300 m is an old farmstead that houses the nuns' confessor, a Carthusian monk.
