Chen Reiss

Chen Reiss (born 1979 in Herzliya ) is an Israeli opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

In 2002 she made her debut at the Bavarian State Opera and sang in Gustav Mahler's 8th Symphony at Carnegie Hall in November of that year . She was engaged at the Vienna State Opera and has since sung at many international opera houses and concert halls, such as the Royal Opera House Covent Garden (2018 as Zerlina in Mozart's Don Giovanni ), the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées , the Teatro alla Scala , the Israeli Opera and at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino , also at the BBC Proms in London and the Lucerne Festival .

In 2006 she worked with the Berliner Philharmoniker under Simon Rattle on the soundtrack for the film Perfume - The Story of a Murderer by Tom Tykwer . In 2009 she produced a CD with songs and arias with the WDR Radio Orchestra Cologne . On Christmas Eve 2014, Chen Reiss sang “Et incarnatus est” from Mozart's Great Mass in C minor at midnight mass at the request of Pope Francis, together with the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia under Manfred Honeck . In 2016 she performed with the Vienna Philharmonic under Zubin Mehta at the gala for the 30th anniversary of the Suntory Hall in Tokyo.
