Chen Yang ( Chinese  陈扬 , Pinyin Chen Yang ; born July 10, 1991 in Hebei ) is a Chinese discus thrower .

Athletic career

In 2016, Chen Yang improved her best performance at the Halle Throwing Days to 63.61 m and qualified for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she finished seventh in the final with 63.11 m. A year later she was crowned continental champion at the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar with 60.41 m and thus received a bye for the World Championships in London , where she finished tenth in the final with 61.28 m. In 2018 she took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time , where she won the gold medal with 65.12 m in front of her compatriot Feng Bin and the Indian Seema Antil . The following year, she secured the silver medal behind her compatriot Feng at the Asian Championships in Doha with a throw of 61.87 m. So she qualified again for the World Championships there in October, where she finished fourth with a width of 63.38 m in the final .
