China, IL is an American animated series produced and broadcast by Cartoon Networks late-night block Adult Swim in 2011 . In Germany, the series was first broadcast on the pay TV channel TNT Serie in 2016 . A free TV premiere took place in April 2017 on the broadcaster DMAX , which also broadcasts the series Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell , Rick and Morty and Robot Chicken .

The series is about the brothers Steve and Frank Smith, who work as teachers at the worst university in America, and with their friends pony and babycakes constantly get into all kinds of adventures.

The reception from critics was positive. Critics described the series as imaginative. Phil Dyess-Nugent from The AV Club said: “Neely's talent is still most evident in the strange twists and turns of his imagination and odd spurts of verbal surrealism”, in German something like: “Neely's talent can be seen most clearly in the strange twists and turns of his imagination and the strange passages of verbal surrealism ”. The reviews on the Internet Movie Data Base ( IMDB for short ) are mixed, and the series got 6.6 out of 10 stars, from an average of around 1.7 thousand users. In fact, 22.6% of users gave China, IL one star out of ten, and another 22.6% gave it all ten stars out of ten.
