Daniel Welbat
Daniel Welbat (* 7. May 1989 in Hamburg ) is a German blues-rock - musician , film composer and voice actor . He is also known under the pseudonym WellBad and founder of the band WellBad of the same name .
Life
Daniel Welbat is the son of the film producer Douglas Welbat and the actress Katja Brügger as well as the grandson of the actors and actresses Alexander Welbat and Siegrid Hackenberg . After a few years of piano and guitar lessons, he learned music theory on a self-taught basis. At the age of 16 he recorded his first self-composed songs after graduating from high school . At the age of 20 he founded the indie label Blue Central Records with his cousin Jonathan Lehmann . His role models were Willie Dixon , The Black Keys , Eels and Tom Waits .
He has worked in radio play productions, music projects and acting, as well as directing and scripting short films. His debut album Beautiful Disaster was released on November 11, 2011 .
Welbat composed the soundtrack for the 2010 film Father Morgana . The recordings were made in Hafenklang - recording studio made in Hamburg, together with the music producer Stephen Gade. Welbat wrote the soundtrack for the film The 7th Dwarf , released in 2014 , and also worked as a screenwriter.
