Chociemyśl ( German Kotzemeuschel , 1937-45 Dammfeld ) is a village in the Polish Voivodeship of Lower Silesia , which belongs to the rural community of Kotla (Kuttlau) in the powiat Głogowski (district of Glogau) .

Geographical location

The place is located about two kilometers southwest of the main town Kotla and ten kilometers northwest of the city of Głogów (Glogau) on the border with the Lubusz Voivodeship . Surrounding villages are Grochowice (Grochwitz) in the north, Kotla (Kuttlau) in the northeast, Kozie Doły (Kosiadel) in the southeast, Ceber (Ziebern Vorwerk) in the south, Skidniówek (Gut Skeyden) in the southwest and that belonging to the municipality of Siedlisko in the Lubusz Voivodeship Bielawy in the northwest.

From Chociemyśl, a road leads to Droga wojewódzka 321, three kilometers south of the village . Chociemyśl is located on the now disused railway line Grodziec Mały - Kolsko , where the place had a train station.

history

Chociemyśl was first mentioned in 1295 in Liber fundationis episcopatus Vratislaviensis as Cozemyschle .

After the First Silesian War , Chociemyśl came to the Kingdom of Prussia in 1742 . There the place was from 1816 to 1945 in the district of Glogau in the administrative district of Liegnitz .

The German name of the place is Kotzemeuschel . This place name was changed in 1937 in the course of Germanization at the time of National Socialism in Dammfeld . After the border was drawn in the period after the Second World War , the place came to the Republic of Poland as Chociemyśl . Between 1975 and 1998 the place belonged to the Legnica Voivodeship , after its dissolution as a result of a territorial reform, the place came to the Lower Silesian Voivodeship . In 1998 Chociemyśl became part of the rural municipality of Kotla in the powiat Głogowski .
