Siedlisko is located in the north of Lower Silesia on the right bank of the Oder , between the towns of Bytom Odrzański ( Beuthen an der Oder ) and Nowa Sól ( Neusalz ). history
The village was first mentioned in 1298 when the Glogau Duke Heinrich III. from the Kastellanei Beuthen an der Oder . Together with the Duchy of Glogau, Carolath came to Bohemia in 1331 . The German place name Karlatt is documented for the year 1381, when the village was given as a fief to Nikolaus von Rechenberg by the Bohemian King Wenceslaus . Carolath stayed with his descendants until 1561 and then passed to Fabian von Schoenaich , who through further acquisitions became one of the largest landowners in Silesia. After his death in 1591, the property was inherited by his nephew Georg von Schönaich , to whom they were confirmed by Emperor Rudolf II in 1595 .
Georg von Schönaich built Carolath Palace between 1597 and 1618 and in 1610 founded the Carolath Majorat with the minor Majoratitz and Mellendorf in Niederlausitz . In the same year the title of baron was confirmed to him by the emperor. 1698 Schönaich'sche owned Carolath was built by Emperor I. Leopold for outdoor Standesherrschaft and two years later the nobleman Hans Georg Freiherr von Schönaich in the hereditary imperial counts charged.
After the First Silesian War , Carolath fell to Prussia together with the Duchy of Glogau in 1742. Subsequently, the Prussian King Friedrich II awarded Hans Carl zu Carolath-Beuthen the title of Prince Carolath- Beuthen , whose descendants kept the place and castle until 1945. The last owner was Carl-Erdmann von Carolath-Beuthen.
Towards the end of the Second World War , Carolath was occupied by the Red Army in the spring of 1945 and shortly afterwards placed under Polish administration. Subsequently, the population was evicted by the local Polish administration and replaced by Poles. Corolath was renamed Siedlisko .
