Choruschiwka ( Ukrainian Хоружівка ; Russian Хоружевка Choruschewka ) is a village in the Ukrainian Sumy Oblast with about 800 inhabitants (2001).
geography
Khorushivka is located in Nedryhajliw district on the banks of the Chus ( Хусь ), a 20 km long right tributary of the Sula . The territorial road T-19-04 runs through the village and after 12 km leads south to the district center of Nedryhajliw .
Until 2016, the permit was the administrative center of the district council of the same name , to which, in addition to Khorushivka, the following villages also belonged:
- Bisch ( Біж ⊙ , about 80 inhabitants)
- Darahanowe ( Дараганове ⊙ , about 50 inhabitants)
- Lavrowe ( Лаврове ⊙ , about 90 inhabitants)
- Omelkowe ( Омелькове ⊙ , about 60 inhabitants)
- Spartak ( Спартак ⊙ , about 90 inhabitants)
It was dissolved on September 2, 2016 and incorporated into the Nedryhajliw settlement community .
Personalities
The composer Thomas de Hartmann was born in the village in 1885 and the former Prime Minister and President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko was born in 1954 . In a field near the village in the fight with was the Red Cossacks in June 1921, the commander of the anarchist Revolutionary Insurrectionary Army of Ukraine Fedossij Schtschus .
