Khreshchatyk ( Ukrainian Хрещатик ; Russian Крещатик Khreshchatyk , Romanian Crişceatec , Polish Krisczatek , German (until 1918) Kryszczatek ) is a village in the Bukovina in the north of the Ukrainian Chernivtsi Oblast with about 900 inhabitants (2001).
The village, located at an altitude of 274 m , is the only locality of the district council of the same name in the north of Sastavna Rajon .
Khreshchatyk is located on the bank of the Dniester on the opposite bank of the river from the city of Salishchyky in Ternopil Oblast . Above the village is the Khreshchatyk Monastery ( Монастир "Хрещатик" ) from the 17th century.
Through the village leading highway M 19 and the territorial road T-26-16 . The distance to the southeastern Rajon center Sastavna is 15 km, the Oblast center Chernivtsi is 45 km southeast of Khreshchatyk.
