Chris Fisher (Director)

Chris Fisher (born December 30, 1973 in Pasadena , California ) is an American film director , screenwriter and film producer .

Life

Chris Fisher grew up in Newport Beach and first studied philosophy and law at the University of Southern California . After graduating, he worked as a corporate lawyer in London. He became interested in the entertainment industry when he met and interned at the William Morris Agency . In 2001 he founded the film production company Imperial Fish and began to realize his own film projects.

In 2002 he wrote, produced and directed the film Nightstalker - The Beast of LA based on the story of serial killer Richard Ramírez , which he also presented at the 2003 Berlinale . In the same year he co-produced the film Spun , which heralded the comeback of Mickey Rourke , and produced the horror film Taboo - Das Spiel zum Tod . Fisher's main theme is dealing with the dark side of human existence such as fear or death. In 2008 he shot a sequel to the classic DVD movie Donnie Darko . The film S. Darko was completed in 2009 and was released on DVD on May 12, 2009 in US video stores and on July 6, 2009 in Europe.

In 2011 he shot Street Kings 2: Motor City, the sequel to Street Kings . This production was also staged directly for the DVD market.

As a director, Fisher is also active in television. For example, from 2007 to 2010 he directed several episodes of the series Cold Case - No victim is ever forgotten . He has also shot more than a dozen episodes for the Person of Interest series since 2012. In 2012 he directed the novel adaptation of the crime thriller Meeting Evil and was able to win over Samuel L. Jackson for the lead role . This was followed by directorial work for various television series.
