Life

Chris Haring studied music and movement education at the University of Music and Performing Arts and Psychology in Vienna. After his studies he completed further training in New York, a. a. at Cunningham School. He worked as a dancer with companies like Nikolais / Luis Dance Cie. (USA), man act (GB), Nigel Charnock (GB), DV8 Physical Theater (GB), Cie. Willi Dorner (A) and pilot dances (A). For his choreographies he worked with visual artists such as Erwin Wurm , Michel Blazy, Aldo Giannotti, the musician Peter Rehberg and the media artist Klaus Obermaier. Based on the stage pieces, films were co-directed with filmmaker Mara Mattuschka .

In 2005, Haring founded the dance company Liquid Loft together with the musician Andreas Berger, the dancer Stephanie Cumming and the dramaturge Thomas J. Jelinek . In her performances and installations, contemporary dance is always directly linked to other contemporary art forms in order to create a coherent total work of art . The idiosyncratic visual and formal language, the unmistakable acoustic stage sets and the idiosyncratic dance implementation brought Liquid Loft international recognition and awards. Liquid Loft's productions have been performed at international houses and festivals such as Rencontres Chorégraphiques Saint-Denis, Théâtre national de Chaillot Paris, Impulstanz Vienna International Dance Festival , Tanzquartier Wien , Burgtheater Wien, Southbank Center London, MODAFE Seoul, Künstlerhaus Mousonturm Frankfurt, Julidans Amsterdam , Suzanne Dellal Center Tel Aviv, Trafo Budapest, La Bâtie-Festival de Genève , La Biennale di Venezia , The Place London, Tanzhaus NRW Düsseldorf, Biennale de la Danse Lyon, Kampnagel Hamburg, Melkweg Amsterdam, World Expo Zaragoza , Shanghai Dance Festival, Opera de Monte Carlo u. a. shown.
