Christopher Lee († November 2019) was an American basketball coach .

career

Lee was the head coach of TuS 04 Leverkusen in the basketball league from the 1980/81 season . His brother Gregory S. Lee had previously played in Leverkusen. Under his leadership, players like Christoph Körner , Bernd Kater and Gunther Behnke developed , and he also introduced basketball camps for young people in Leverkusen. In mid-November 1984 Lee resigned from his position at the Rhinelander as a result of a 70:10 defeat against Saturn Cologne and the elimination in the DBB Cup against second division Bayreuth. In the previous weeks, the then 38-year-old Lee had been criticized for the mixed start to the 1984/85 season. The manager of the Bundesliga team at the time, Otto Reintjes , who initially took on Lee's duties as a coach, certified the American as having “done excellent development work for four years”.

Lee looked after the German national team in 1983 and 1984 and also at the 1983 European Championship as head coach and led the team to eighth place.

Lee lived in California Los Angeles and in southern France, he died in November of 2019.
