Christopher "Chris" McKenna (* in the 20th century ) is an American screenwriter who mostly works with Erik Sommers on his projects .

life and career

Chris McKenna attended The Bishop's School in La Jolla and then Stanford University . He gained his first experience in the film sector in the 1990s as a production assistant for the films The Thing Called Love (1993), Kleine Millionärin in Not (1993), Greedy (1994) and The Third Spring - Friends, Enemies, Fish & Women (1995). He got his first engagement as a screenwriter in 2004 for the film The Girl Next Door , in which he is not shown in the credits, but according to director Luke Greenfield he worked on the script for over a year and had the "best ideas of all time" would have. As a result, McKenna established himself as the writer of the television series American Dad , Community, and The Mindy Project . While working on Community , he met the screenwriter Erik Sommers , with whom he worked from now on on all of his projects. In addition to the films The LEGO Batman Movie and Jumanji: Willkommen im Jungle , which were released in 2017, these also include the MCU entries Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) and Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019). They are also supposed to write the script for the third Spider-Man film, which is due to hit cinemas in July 2021.

Chris McKenna is married to the American screenwriter and film producer Sally Bradford McKenna , with whom he has several children. His brother is the actor, screenwriter and producer Matt McKenna , with whom he worked on Community and the 2008 animated film Igor .
