Chris Thompson (* 20th October 1990 in Greenville , Florida ) is an American American football poker players in the position of running backs . He plays for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the National Football League (NFL) and is also used as a returner in the special teams .

college

Thompson played for Florida State University in the Atlantic Coast Conference from 2009 to 2012 . He was the running back with the highest average yardage per running game in 2010 and 2012, when the Florida State Seminoles were also champions .

In total, he ran 1,735 yards in the four years at college and scored 14 touchdowns . He also caught a total of 45 balls for 430 yards and managed a touchdown. Even in his college years he was occasionally used as a  return specialist and came to a total of 187 yards.

NFL

In the 2013 NFL Draft , Thompson was selected in the 5th round as the 154th player ever by the Washington Redskins .

Meanwhile, on March 17, 2016, Thompson extended his contract with the Redskins.

Thompson was only used sporadically in his first two seasons in 2013 and 2014 in the National Football League or exclusively as a return specialist in his rookie year , but in the 2015 season he made a total of 13 appearances.

In the 2016 season , he was used in every game of the season and increasingly came as a third-down-back to some running and passing games . He also acted more and more as a kick returner this season than in previous NFL seasons .

On September 5, 2017, Thompson extended his contract with the Redskins for two years. This was set through the extension until the end of 2019.

In the 2017 season , Thompson showed outstanding performance, but had to end it prematurely due to a fibular fracture and was placed on the Injured Reserve List on November 19, 2017 .

On May 1, 2020, it was announced that Thompson had signed a one-year contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars after they became a free agent after the 2019 season .
