Christa Maria Ziese
Christa Maria Ziese , also Christa-Maria Ziese , married Christa Maria Ziese-Lüdeke (born July 13, 1924 in Aschersleben ; † January 22, 2012 in Meiningen ) was a German song , concert and opera singer ( soprano ).
Life
Her teachers were the pedagogues Gottlieb Zeithammer and Josef-Maria Hausschild in Leipzig . In 1949 she won the International Concours in Prague and in 1950 the third prize of the Bach Singing Competition in Leipzig. She made her stage debut in 1947 at the Leipzig Opera as Hansel in the opera Hansel and Gretel and was then a member of this opera house until 1951 and again from 1954–1977 , but at the same time made guest appearances at the State Opera Berlin and Dresden and at the Komische Oper Berlin . 1952–1954 she was engaged at the National Theater in Weimar . Guest performances at the Moscow Bolshoi Theater , at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf - Duisburg , at the opera houses in Hamburg , Hanover , Zurich , Brno and Nice followed. Her large, expressive soprano voice achieved its best performance in the highly dramatic repertoire . She sang u. a. the role of Leonore in Fidelio , Santuzza in Cavalleria rusticana , Salome , Aida , Tosca , Carmen , Turandot by Puccini, Senta in the Flying Dutchman , Isolde , Venus in Tannhäuser . The artist was also successful in the concert hall . She was awarded the title of chamber singer . After finishing her stage career in 1977, she devoted herself particularly to the training of young singers.
She spent her retirement in Meiningen. She was buried in the grave of her husband Rainer Lüdeke in the Leipzig South Cemetery .
Awards
- On October 6, 1963 she was awarded the National Prize of the GDR III. Excellent class for art and literature.
