Athletic career
Williams celebrated its first international success in 2011 in the youth and junior sector. In the 4 x 100 meter relay , she led the Jamaican team around Deandre Whitehorne, Celia Walters and Shericka Jackson as the starting runner to the gold medal. In the same year she also took third place over 100 meters at the World Youth Championships near Lille , here behind the Americans Jennifer Madu and Myasia Jacobs. In the season she was used again as a starting runner and celebrated the title win together with Shericka Jackson, Chrisann Gordon and Olivia James.
At the Central American and Caribbean Junior Championships 2012 in San Salvador , Williams won the bronze medal in the 100-meter run. In the demonstration competition, the 4 x 100 meter relay, she prevailed with the Jamaican team against the relay from El Salvador. She also competed in the relay at the Junior World Championships in Barcelona two weeks later . However, the Jamaican team did not reach the goal in advance.
Between 2012 and 2015, Williams increased her best performance over 100 meters from 11.54 seconds to 11.11 seconds, but remained in the active class with no significant international results. Her breakthrough came at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . In the 4 x 100 meter relay she won the silver medal behind the US relay together with the multiple Olympic sprint champions Elaine Thompson , Veronica Campbell-Brown and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce . She also qualified for the finals in the 100-meter run with a time of 10.96 seconds . There, however, she only finished eighth. At the IAAF World Relays 2017 in the Bahamas , she was used in the 4 x 100 meter relay in the preliminary run, which later took second place with a different line-up. In August she also got the starting place in the run-up to the relay at the World Championships in London , where the Jamaican women won the bronze medal in the final behind the Americans and the British. In 2018 she took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast for the first time and won the silver medal behind Michelle-Lee Ahye with 11.21 seconds. With the Jamaican relay she also secured silver in 42.52 seconds behind the team from England.
