Michelle-Lee Raquel Ahye (born April 10, 1992 in Port of Spain ) is a sprinter from Trinidad and Tobago .

Athletic career

Michelle-Lee Ahye gained her first international experience at the CARIFTA Games 2006 in Les Abymes , where she was eighth in the 100-meter run in 12.27 s and the four-by-100-meter relay with the Trinidadian-Tobagan team Won bronze medal. Then she was at the Central America and Caribbean Youth Championships (CAC) in Port of Spain with 12.10 s sixth. The following year, she won the CARIFTA Games in Providenciales with 11.76 s and won the silver medal in the relay in 46.35 s and finished fifth in the 200-meter run with 24.71 s. So she qualified for the Youth World Championships in Ostrava , where she reached the semi-finals, but there, as well as over 200 meters, no longer started. Also in 2008 she won the CARIFTA Games in Basse-Terre with 11.66 seconds , as well as in 2010 in George Town . There she won over 100 meters in 11.50 s and also with the relay with 45.06 s. In addition, she was eliminated over 200 meters in the first round, as well as at the CAC Junior Championships in Santo Domingo with 11.61 s. At the 2011 CARIFTA Games in Montego Bay , she had to admit defeat to Anthonique Strachan of the Bahamas with 11.44 s . Also with the relay this time she won the silver medal in 45.80 seconds. She then won the relay in 43.47 s at the CAC championships in Mayagüez and won in 11.25 s at the Pan American Junior Championships in Miramar . So she qualified for the World Championships in Daegu , where she reached the semi-finals over 100 meters, in which she was eliminated with 11.48 s. In the 4 x 100 meter relay , fourth place, which she originally took with the team from Trinidad and Tobago in 42.58 s, was revoked by her compatriot Semoy Hackett after a positive doping test .

In 2012 she made it to the semi-finals at the Olympic Games in London over 100 meters , where she was eliminated with 11.32 seconds. In the 4 x 100 meter relay , the team originally made it to the final and set a new national record in the run-up, but this was later revoked again because of the above-mentioned doping offense. In 2013 she won the silver medal with the relay in 43.67 s at the CAC championships in Morelia and was disqualified over 200 meters in the final. At the World Championships in Moscow she was eliminated again over 100 meters with 11.33 s in the semifinals and could not qualify for the final with the relay in 43.01 s. 2014, it was at the World Indoor Championships in Sopot in 60 Meters in 7.16 s Sixth. At the first IAAF World Relays in 2014 in the Bahamas , she won the bronze medal with the 4 x 100 meter relay in 42.66 seconds and did not finish the final run with the 4 x 200 meter relay. Over 100 meters she did not start at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in the semi-finals and came second in the Athletics Continental Cup in Marrakech . In addition, she won there with the relay in 42.44 s.

At the IAAF World Relays 2015 she finished fifth with the relay in 42.03 s and then won the bronze medal at the NACAC Championships in San José with 11.22 s. She qualified again for the World Championships in Beijing , where she finished fifth with 10.98 seconds in the 100-meter event and won silver in the 4-by-100-meter relay , with the quartet from Trinidad and Tobago in the line-up Kelly- Ann Baptiste , Ahye, Reyare Thomas and Hackett set a national record with 42.03 s. In 2016 she was fourth over 60 meters at the World Indoor Championships in Portland with 7.11 s. She again took part in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and was there in 10.92 s and 22.34 s respectively sixth over 100 and 200 meters . They also reached with the Trinidadian-tobagischen relay in 42.12 s fifth . At the IAAF World Relays 2017 , she did not finish her preliminary run with the 4 x 100 meter relay and retired from the 4 x 200 meter relay with 1: 32.62 minutes in the first round. At the World Championships in London, she was in 11.01 s Sixth and went over 200 yards no longer at the start. With the season, she was classified in 42.62 s to sixth place .

At the 2018 World Indoor Championships in Birmingham , she finished sixth in 7.13 s and won the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia in April in 11.14 s ahead of the Jamaican Christania Williams . At the Pan American Games in Lima in 2019 , she won the silver medal in 10.27 s. With the season she just missed the podium in fourth. Shortly before the World Championships , Ahye was suspended for violating the anti-doping rules and subsequently suspended for two years with retroactive effect from April 19, 2019.

In 2013 and 2014 and from 2016 to 2019 Ahye was the Trinidadian-Tobagian champion in the 100-meter run , and in 2014, 2016 and 2017 also over 200 meters.
