Semoy Kee-Ann Hackett (born November 27, 1988 in Lambeau , Tobago ) is a sprinter from Trinidad and Tobago .

Career

Semoy Hackett gained his first international experience at the CARIFTA Games 2004 in Hamilton , where she was eliminated in the first round of the 100-meter run and with the Trinidadian-Tobacco 4 x 100 meter relay in 47.79 seconds Won bronze medal. Then she also won at the Central America and Caribbean Junior Championships (CAC) in Coatzacoalcos over 100 bronze and won in 46.08 s with the relay. The following year she took part in the 200-meter run at the Youth World Championships in Marrakech and was eliminated there in 24.26 s in the semifinals. In 2006 she won the bronze medal over 100 meters at the CARIFTA Games in Les Abymes in 11.68 seconds, as well as in 45.72 seconds with the relay. Then she won at the CAC Junior Championships in Port of Spain over 100 and 200 meters, as well as the bronze medal with the relay. At the CAC games in Cartagena , she was eliminated in the two individual disciplines in the preliminary stages. She then took part in the Junior World Championships in Beijing , but did not get into a second round there in either competition. In 2007, she was fifth in the 100 and 200 meters at the CARIFTA Games in Providenciales and was sixth in the 200-meter run in 23.82 s at the Pan American Junior Championships in São Paulo , while she was in the 100 meters with 11.95 s in eliminated in the first round.

In 2008 she retired at the CAC Championships in Cali over 100 meters in the first round, but won the relay in 43.43 s. In addition, she qualified for the first time for the Olympic Games in Beijing, where she was eliminated over 100 meters with 11.46 s in the quarter-finals and in the 4-by-100-meter relay in the preliminary run . In 2009 she won silver over 100 meters in 11.35 s at the CAC Championships in Havana and was eliminated over 200 meters in the preliminary run. At the World Championships in Berlin she reached the semifinals over 100 meters, in which she was eliminated with 11.45 s, and came in seventh place with the relay from Trinidad and Tobago in 43.43 s. In 2010 she was fourth in the U23 NACAC Championships in Miramar in 11.33 s. In 2011 she managed a double victory over 100 meters and in the 4 x 100 meter relay at the CAC championships in Mayagüez . Her results at the World Championships in Daegu , where she advanced over 100 meters to the semifinals and took fourth place there and in the relay, were canceled because she had tested positive for methylhexanamine at the national championships on August 13th . She was banned for six months because of this doping rule violation . In 2012, there was another doping ban for two years and four months because of a positive test for the same substance at the NCAA championships on June 9th. This time, her results at the Olympic Games in London were annulled: She finished eighth over 200m , reached the semi-finals over 100m , and not in the final of the 4 x 100m relay with the quartet from Trinidad and Tobago achieved the goal.

In 2015 she was at the Pan American Games in Toronto in 11.16 S eighth over 100 meters and was eliminated with the relay in the first round. In addition, she won the silver medal behind the American Kyra Jefferson at the NACAC championships in San José with a new national record of 22.51 seconds . She also qualified for the World Championships in Beijing, where she was eliminated in the semi-finals over 100 and 200 meters and the bronze medal in the relay competition in the cast Kelly-Ann Baptiste , Michelle-Lee Ahye , Reyare Thomas and Hackett in 42.03 s behind Jamaica and the United States. In 2016 she again took part in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she also made it over 100 and 200 meters to the semi-finals, in which she was eliminated with 11.20 s and 22.94 s respectively. With the relay she finished fifth in 42.12 s. At the IAAF World Relays 2017 in the Bahamas , she finished fourth in the 4 x 200 meter relay in 1: 32.63 min and did not finish with the 4 x 100 meter relay. Over 200 meters she qualified again for the World Athletics Championships in London, where she was eliminated in the semifinals with 23.54 s . With the relay she finished sixth in 42.62 s.

In 2018 she took part in the Commonwealth Games for the first time in the Australian Gold Coast , where she finished seventh over 200 meters in 23.16 s and fifth in the 4 x 100 meter relay in 43.50 s. In early August, she won the silver medal at the Central America and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla in 22.95 s and 43.61 s respectively. She then finished fifth in the NACAC Championships in Toronto in 23.27 s.

In 2009 and 2018 Hackett became the Trinidadian-Tobacco champion in the 200-meter run and in 2011 also with the 4-by-100-meter relay. Other titles have been stripped of their doping violations. She graduated from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge with a degree in social sciences .
